Summary
OSF HealthCare Rehabilitation Services faced the challenge of managing the quality and education of more than 500 therapists across 17 hospitals, each using different systems and processes.
To provide consistent, up-to-date training and standardize exercise programs, OSF leveraged the Medbridge Educate Solution alongside the Medbridge Home Exercise Program. By consolidating 17 disparate processes into a single, streamlined training platform and HEP solution, OSF improved efficiency and care quality, ensured uniform education, and empowered clinicians to take charge of their professional growth.

The Challenge
Managing clinician education and home exercises across a large, decentralized system
With over 500 therapists (or Mission Partners, as OSF calls them) across 17 hospitals, ensuring a consistent, high-quality clinician and patient experience was a significant challenge. OSF’s previous system had several limitations:
- Inefficient processes: Managing education and tracking courses across multiple systems was time-consuming and difficult.
- Outdated content: Available content often fell out of date, and the Quality & Education team needed to continually update and manage it.
- Variable experiences: Each hospital operated independently, leading to inconsistent clinician education and home exercise programs.
While OSF was working to consolidate their teams under one roof, leaders needed a new, streamlined solution that would help the organization further its mission of serving every person with the greatest possible care.
The Solution
Consistent, high-quality education and care programs with Medbridge
After evaluating several vendors, OSF chose Medbridge to support their training and home exercise program needs. The decision was driven by several key factors:
- Ease of use: The Medbridge platform streamlines course management, making it easy to assign and track education across the system.
- High-quality, up-to-date content: With Medbridge, clinicians can meet their growing onboarding, annual, and compliance training needs, and OSF’s Quality & Education Team no longer need to spend time managing content.
- Extensive learning options: On-demand courses, live webinars, and podcasts provide a variety of ways for therapists to continue their professional development on their own schedule.
- A comprehensive platform: Medbridge integrates best-in-class educational content with a modern digital care platform.
